REGIONAL SERVICES
HEART OF
The Heart of Texas Economic Development District, Inc. (HOTEDD) serves the six counties of Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone and McLennan. Its purpose is to help coordinate and serve as a resource for regional economic development and marketing activities in the Heart of Texas. HOTEDD is funded partially by a planning grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) and partially by local matching funds.
The Heart of Texas Economic Development District, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Directors—the Chair is Robert Hawkins, Vice-Chair is Judge Elenor Holmes, and Secretary/Treasurer is Wilson Henry. Ken Simons serves as the President of the Corporation.
The HOTEDD helps facilitate preparation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (PDF file) (CEDS) for the region. This document is the result of a local planning process designed to guide economic growth. The CEDS is required to qualify for assistance under most EDA programs, and is a prerequisite for an area to be designated as an Economic Development District.
