Rural Transportation

The Heart of Texas Rural Transit District (HOTRTD) contracts with transit providers in each county to provide Section 5311 Rural Transit, Title XIX non-emergency Medicaid transportation and Title III senior citizen transportation. The system is operated as a demand response program which requires the rider to call their local transit office at least 24 hours in advance. The rural transit program operates as the "bus services" for rural areas and takes passengers to destinations both inside and outside the region.
