Call Texas’ 211 for Free Assistance and Help 24/7!

The Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) has created an area information center (211) that people can call for a variety of different reasons! Our 211 service is a free social service provided to anyone in the state of Texas. The helpline is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and has multilingual language assistance available.

The 211 staff provides assistance and information to callers. This can be information about food, clothing, shelter, utility bill payment assistance, medical assistance, childcare, eldercare, disaster relief, and more! All anyone in the state of Texas has to do is dial 211, indicate their language preference, and then press 1 for Information & Referral. They will be assisted by trained specialists with what they need, free of any charges!
