There are a few opportunities for rural Texas areas to receive funding help. The Community Development Block Grant Program for Rural Texas (TXCDBG) is helping rural cities in Texas with essential funding for growth and expansion! The TXCDBG is designed to help small, rural cities with populations less than 50,000 and counties with a non-metropolitan population under 200,000 that are not eligible for The US Department of Housing and Development (HUD) funding. These small, “non-entitled,” areas can apply for the TXCDBG for funding help instead!

Another funding opportunity offered includes the Fair Housing Information and the Planning and Capacity Building Fund. This fund provides grant money for planning activities that would improve local capacity and identify short-term needs to develop strategies to help address community needs.
