The Heart of Texas Council of Governments in partnership with the previous counties listed are proud to offer this service to the public at no cost.

Our Emergency Notification System, sometimes referred to as a “reverse 911 system,” allows local emergency management, public safety agencies, and governmental authorities to notify the public during emergency incidents or public threats. This phone and email system is designed to quickly and effectively deliver emergency messages to you when needed. Examples of events you may be alerted to include:

  • Natural Disasters: Fires, floods, tornado warnings, and other severe weather events
  • Man-made Disasters: Bomb threats, hazardous material incidents, terrorism threats
  • Evacuation Notices: Criminal threats and other public safety concerns
  • Public Health Alerts: Boil water advisories, health alerts, and similar notices

Please note that this system does not replace calling 911 for emergency assistance. Instead, it serves as an additional tool to disseminate critical information to the public through mass notifications when necessary.

Your contact information is essential to ensure you receive emergency messages from local officials. This includes:

  • Cell phone numbers
  • Text messaging numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phone numbers

Important Notes:

  • We are continually upgrading our database of landline phone numbers registered in the Heart of Texas region.
  • Since many people no longer use landlines, we are particularly focused on collecting cell phone numbers, emails, and VOIP information.
  • The information you provide will be used exclusively for our emergency notification system and will not be shared with others.
