Heart of Texas Council of Governments Launches Newly Designed Website

WACO, TX -- Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) recently launched a newly designed website, created by Golden Shovel Agency. The new site is user-friendly, has a more modern design, and is customized to the needs of the organization.

The goal of the organization was to join what were previously two websites into one that contained the necessary information for the Regional Economic Development district in a user-friendly way. It was also important that the website looks new, bold, and bright, as well as being able to easily allow for new information updates.

“I feel that we have one of the best websites to provide information about our region and partners,” said Russell Devorsky, Executive Director of HOTCOG. “Potential business and marketing sources can easily review the vital data and information they need which will create the interest and desire to be part of our region.”

Dorthy Jackson, the Regional and Economic Development Manager, said, “combining all our individual department websites into one makes us, as a Regional Council of Governments, more streamlined and user friendly for our communities throughout the region.  We are excited about this new website and intend to make it better as we go.”

HOTCOG collaborated with Golden Shovel Agency for its website design project. The national economic development communications firm is recognized for its award-winning design and expertise in business and workforce attraction. “Golden Shovel has the knowledge and experience in developing economic development-specific websites. They were able to perfectly combine information from our old website with new city and county data, and allowed us to add our input to the changes we desired,” said Harold Ferguson, Economic Development Planner.
